The Turkish Culture and Tourism Office says figures show an increase in nearly 19% of UK visitors to Turkey.

The figures, released between January and April show that 205,879 UK tourists visited Turkey compared to 173,379 for the same period last year. That's an increase of 18.75%

The Director of the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office in the UK, Irfan Onal said:

"We are incredibly pleased to see the number of travellers to Turkey continue to grow. Buying property in Turkey is increasingly becoming a very attractive proposition as people choosing to buy a property in Turkey are finding that their homes currently represent fantastic value for money. There are several projects underway to ensure the continuing development of infrastructure and services in a bid to prepare for the increasing number of visitors to Turkey."

Turkey is not only a popular holiday destination amongst Brits but is also one of the fastest-growing second property markets in the world with property in Turkey owned by foreign investors exceeding £1.25 million.
