Ovacik
Ovacik is located on a plateau surrounded by stunning mountains. The largest of these, Baba Dag, meaning Father mountain. Although it has expanded in recent years to accommodate its visitors, it retains its tranquillity. However, it is very near the buslting resort of Hisaronu, where there is a great variety of restaurants and bars, discos and shops selling just about everything you can think of.
There are frequent minibuses to all the local places. Fethiye is just a short bus ride away, as is the Blue Lagoon, (Olu Deniz), one of the most popular resorts in Turkey and certainly the most photographed. The deserted Greek village of Kaya Koy is within walking distance. It was deserted in 1923 at the time of the exchange of populations. The Turks of Greece and the Greeks of Turkey were returned to their ethnic homelands.
