This coming week will see cyclists from all over the world riding through coastal regions here as part of the 50th Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey, and which is set to end in Istanbul on Sunday, 4 May. If you are visiting Turkey during this time in search of property for sale in Turkey, then don’t miss this prestigious Turkish sporting event:
Alanya to Istanbul
The annual Presidential Cycling Tour will start in Alanya, and cyclists will meander through the beautiful Mediterranean and Aegean coastal regions. Cyclists will pass through Alanya, Marmaris, Finike, Bodrum, Kusadasi, and Fethiye. These coastal regions are hugely popular among holidaymakers and those looking to buy property in Turkey.
Cyclists will be treated to natural beauty and meandering coastal roads. The cycling event is also broadcasted live internationally meaning that you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of lovely coastal Turkey while keeping an eye on the winning cyclist. As the cyclists approach the last stage in Istanbul, the route passes through the famous Bosphorus Bridge – the connection between Europe and Asia.
International Team
Cycling teams from across the world will be competing in this huge event, with cyclists from Africa, Europe, Asia and Turkey itself competing for the title as Turkey’s presidential cyclists. It’s been a few years since a local cyclist won this road race, and this year again all local eyes will be on the local boys to scoop the title.
Celebratory Festivities
Because this year features the 50th anniversary of this Turkish road race, the tournament will be accompanied by various celebratory festivities. For those living in or visiting the Fethiye and Alanya regions, festivities on offer will include music concerts by local and popular artists. As you would expect, the end point in Istanbul will also be a hub of activities as supporters, cycling fans and entertainment seekers will gather on Sunday, 4 May.
