As our UK winter continues to rumble on with no sign of a let-up in the wild, wet and windy conditions, the thought of sunshine and warmth becomes ever more appealing…
What is especially attractive at this time of year is the thought of a beach – sparkling clear blue water, spectacular azure skies and white sands between the toes. It’s an enticing prospect is it not? Buying a property in Turkey means you can look forward to access to the beach and an escape from bleak UK weather conditions. No wonder so many people state beaches as a prime reason for seeking out property for sale in Turkey.
Turkey has more than 7,000 kilometres of coastline and the warmest beaches are those situated in the south around the Mediterranean coast.
The most famous beach is arguably the Oludeniz Beach, located on the shoreline called the Turquoise Coast. If you are looking for a property for sale in Fethiye, then no doubt the proximity of this beach will influence your decision. The beach features powdery white sand and surrounding mountains. It really is picture perfect.
Also in Fethiye is the Calis Beach – a perfect location for swimming, sunbathing, and a great selection of beach side cafés, bars and restaurants. The waters are calm and shallow so this is a great beach for you if you are seeking a family day out.
The Butterfly Valley Beach, whilst also in the same location, is rather more secluded and therefore best for those seeking peace, quiet and stunning views. You can access the beach either by boat from Fethiye or a 40-minute walk along the coastal path. The beach is home to hundreds of species of butterflies so the idea spot for nature lovers.
Fethiye property buyers are obviously spoiled for choice beach-wise, but what about other parts of Turkey?
The Konyaalti Beach in Antalya is a Blue Flag beach, which means it is very clean and it is close to good restaurants when all the sunbathing becomes too exhausting. The city of Antalya has much to do and see as well, which is ideal when you and your partner want to add some browsing activity to your day.
Cirali is a three-km beach which again offers an escape far from the madding crowd. There are logger turtles which nest on the sand of the beach so it is therefore designated as a protected area and it is surrounded by two huge mountains so you will be able to take the most amazing photographs whilst you enjoy your time on this peaceful and quiet beach. There are some homely restaurants nearby, offering delicious local food.
