Should you decide to purchase in Hisaronu or Ovacik during your search for a property in Fethiye, you will be near the base of the eagerly awaited new cable car that takes you to the top of Babadağ.
The Skywalk Fethiye Cable Car opened earlier this month and is already proving popular among local residents.
How to Get to the Cable Car
The local bus service goes past the entrance or you can use the nearby car park. For those parking there is a free shuttle bus that runs regularly between the car park and the ticket office.

For just 80tl return per person (price correct at time of publication) you can jump in one of the sixty-one cable cars. Each car seats ten people and carries you up Babadağ in less than ten minutes.
The cable car runs from 7am until 8pm every day and is expected to run throughout the year.
A Choice of Restaurants
There are a choice of two platforms to alight at – 1200m or 1700m. Both have restaurants giving stunning views of the local area and the coast.

The 1700 Bar & Grill also offers you ringside seats from which to watch the paragliders gracefully swoop into the air on their descent to Olu Deniz beach.
If the dizzying heights of 1700m isn’t enough for you, there’s also the option of taking a separate chair lift to the very top of the mountain. Here it feels like the whole world is spread out before you and on a clear day, you can even see Rhodes.

For a Slice of Adventure
For those seeking adventure you can, of course, ride up in the cable car and paraglide back down.

Or perhaps hike up on the tracks, which takes around six hours, and catch the cable car back down. Don’t forget to buy your ticket at the ground level ticket office first though.

Just a note of caution; on the day we went the credit card machines were not working in the ticket office so make sure you take enough money, just in case.
