A property in Turkey is always a good bet for fans of outdoor living and adventures – and if that is what rocks your boat, then news that there is to be a huge investment in paragliding in Fethiye* will come as welcome news.
Located close to Oludeniz, the Babadag mountain attracts thousands of para gliders every year and the Fethiye Chamber of Commerce has just announced a one million TL investment to improve the roads in the area and to build a new launch site. There are also plans to extend the paragliding season.
Statistics for this year show that there was an increase of 15,000 jumps compared to the same period in 2012 and total jumps now equal 75,000 for the year. The site is popular with para gliders because you can jump from 1,900 metres and land on the beach 45 minutes later. Para gliders can choose to do this solo or holiday markers can experience the same heady thrill by flying in tandem with an experienced pilot.
The new launch site will be built at 1,200 metres. There are three existing sites at 1,800, 1,700 and 1,900 metres.

Having such a wonderful facility nearby will make your property all the more attractive. Many holiday makers seek out breaks with a difference – there are plenty of people who holiday in Turkey for the sunshine and to see its historic and cultural sights, but many more people seek out thrills and adventures when on holiday and paragliding can be the ultimate knuckle-whitening experience for many.
