Turkey House Sales up 42% in July

Turkey house sales

TurkStat (Turkish Statistical Institute) data revealed today shows the number of residential house sales in Turkey in July rose 42.3 percent compared with the same period last year. This is great news and shows a revived interest in the sector that struggled due to events last year.

Out of the 115,869 homes sold, 1,726 of these were to foreigners – a huge 65.3% rise on figures from July last year. Istanbul continues to be a foreign favourite with 31% of the sales in the city. Antalya also fared well coming in second with 386 properties sold to foreigners and surprisingly Trabzon on the Black Sea came in third with 212 units sold. This is great news for our industry proving a revived interest in real estate from foreigners following a period of caution last year.

It appears that Iraquis bought up the most properties (293) followed by Saudi citizens now owning 248 homes. Kuwaitis purchased 142, Russians 118 and the British a total of 76.

It’s great to see that foreigners are once again investing in property in Turkey and that figures are on the rise. Let’s hope the trend continues.
