Flying over Fethiye
The southern Turkish town of Fethiye every year celebrates the incredible bravery of our famous ottoman pilot.
the town of Fethiye used to be called Makri, but after the death of our beloved Pilot Fethi Bey the officials of that time changed the name in his honour.
Born in 1891, he was just 27 years old when he died doing what he loved best and had dreamed of doing since he was a young boy, flying.
He served as a pilot in the forces for 7 years.
Every year the town honours him and remembers him with an amazing aerobatic air display from the Turkish Red Arrows, this year a lone f16 flew over the town, and took our breath away doing some amazing stunts.
We also have an incredible park on the waters edge in Fethiye also called Fethi Bey Park where there is a statue of this amazing pilot.
